Harvesting Onions
When onions fall over, this is an indication they are ready for harvesting and curing.
Onions are biannual, meaning they produce bulbs one year and flowers/seeds in the second year.
Notice the tall stems with bulbs at the back of the onion row. We allowed these onion plants to stay in the ground for two years so we could get flowers to harvest seeds for next year's onion plants.
